- Timing Is Everything… Right?
The Truth About When to Take Your Supplements “Does it really matter when you take your supplements?” It’s one of the most common questions I’ve been asked throughout my time working in the world of dietary supplements, and for good reason. If you’re investing your hard-earned money into a supplement, you want to get the most out of it. The truth? Timing can absolutely influence absorption and effectiveness. But it is still just part of the equation. Before we dive in, it may be worth emphasizing a key principle: consistency often beats perfect timing. Even the best supplement won’t deliver results if you forget to take it. So while timing matters, the ultimate goal is to keep your routine memorable and practical. Let’s break it all down by category. Fat-soluble nutrients A wide variety of nutrients, many of which might be in your medicine cabinet, are classified as fat-soluble, meaning they dissolve in fats and oils rather than water. Fat-soluble nutrients include heart-supportive Coenzyme Q10, antioxidant carotenoids (such as astaxanthin, lutein, and zeaxanthin), vital omega-3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA, as well as essential vitamins A, D, E, and K.* Best time to take: With a meal that contains fat A good rule of thumb is to take fat-soluble nutrients with your “largest” meal of the day. Why? This meal is likely to include dietary fat, which helps these nutrients dissolve and become more available for absorption. Examples of good dietary fat include wild-caught salmon, raw seeds/nuts, or virgin olive oil. Dietary fat stimulates bile secretions, which act as a natural detergent, breaking fats into smaller droplets so they can be efficiently absorbed in the small intestine. Supplement brands will sometimes include carrier oils (such as sunflower or palm oil) to aid in the absorption of a fat-soluble nutrient. While helpful, the amount of oil is often small and may not fully replace the benefit of taking the nutrient with a meal that contains fat. Research highlight: In a controlled human trial, subjects who took vitamin D3 (like found in AzureWell’s Whole Food Multi-Vitamin) with a fat-containing meal had 32% higher blood levels compared to those who took it with a fat-free meal. (Hughes et al, Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 2015) Consideration: If you suffer from low bile production, such as after gallbladder removal, you may have greater difficulty absorbing fat-soluble nutrients. Consult with a qualified health professional to determine if taking digestive enzymes and/or digestive bitters might be a helpful addition.* Water-soluble nutrients In contrast to fat-soluble nutrients, water-soluble nutrients dissolve in water, which allows them to be quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. This group includes immune-supportive vitamin C, as well as all eight B vitamins (e.g. niacin, folate, B12), which play key roles in energy production and metabolism.* With the exception of B12, most water-soluble vitamins aren’t stored in the body, so consistent daily intake is important. Pro Tip: Consider taking B vitamins in the morning to support energy and metabolism throughout the day. In addition to these essential vitamins, other water-soluble forms of nutrients include creatine, glutathione, and single amino acids, like taurine. Best time to take: Anytime Because they don’t require fat for absorption, water-soluble nutrients can be taken with or without food. While water-soluble vitamins are usually well tolerated, some people can experience digestive discomfort, especially with isolated or synthetic forms, and may need to take them with food. A “whole food” approach offers an alternative. For example, AzureWell’s Whole Food C Complex provides vitamin C from amla fruit — not synthetic ascorbic acid. This plant-based option provides natural cofactors that support both absorption and tolerance. This approach focuses on delivering nutrients in a more complete form, closer to how they’re found in nature, while remaining gentle to your digestion. Minerals Minerals can behave a bit differently. Most supplemental minerals (e.g. calcium, magnesium, zinc) require an acidic stomach environment to dissolve and be absorbed efficiently. Best time to take: After a meal (especially one with protein) Consider taking minerals after consuming a meal rich in protein. This is typically when stomach acid is at its highest. Protein stimulates the production of hydrochloric acid (HCl), which breaks minerals down into charged ionic forms that can be absorbed. A closer look at magnesium The mineral I am most often asked about is magnesium, popularly referred to as the “master mineral” due to its involvement in hundreds of enzymatic processes. This includes energy production, bone health, as well as muscle and nerve function.* It is important to note that many supplemental forms of magnesium are often poorly absorbed and may cause digestive discomfort and/or loose stool. To maximize absorption, especially when taking higher amounts, try splitting the dose and taking it after your two largest meals of the day. The “chelation” advantage Chelated minerals, which are simply bound to amino acids (e.g. magnesium bisglycinate), are often easier to absorb and gentler on the digestive system. In fact, chelated minerals do not rely as heavily on stomach acid for absorption and can typically be taken on an empty stomach if preferred. Consider AzureWell’s Magnesium G product, which provides magnesium chelated with glycine, with no additives or fillers. Pro Tip: High-fiber supplements may lower the absorption of minerals, so avoid taking them at the same time. The same concept also applies to AzureWell’s IP6 product. Also, some minerals compete for absorption, such as iron and calcium, so it may be best to take them separately. Probiotics In addition to consuming healthy fermented foods like sourdough bread and sauerkraut, probiotic supplements can provide targeted strains of beneficial microbes to support a healthy gut.* There are countless probiotic supplements available and they often vary greatly based upon strain selection, dosage, and delivery systems, so be sure to consider the product’s “suggested use” before consuming. Best time to take: with food (in most cases) For many traditional strains, such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, research demonstrates that taking probiotics with food may improve their survival through stomach acid. (Wang et al. Gut Microbes. 2022). Food may act as a natural acid buffer, protecting the bacteria on its journey to the intestines. Pro Tip: If you’re looking for a more resilient probiotic that can be taken anytime, consider spore-forming strains like Bacillus subtilis and the beneficial yeast Saccharomyces boulardii. In addition to being shelf-stable (with no refrigeration required), these strains are highly durable and less sensitive to timing, making them convenient to take whenever best fits your routine. (Tompkins et al. Beneficial microbes, 2011). Enzymes Enzymes are important “tiny” proteins in the body that make chemical processes faster and more efficient. As we age, the body slows in enzyme production, which can weaken certain processes like digestion.* Furthermore, most food today is heavily processed and lacking natural enzymes, making supplementation a popular choice. There are two main categories of enzymes in dietary supplements. Some are “digestive”, which help to break down the food we eat. Others are “systemic,” which support processes throughout the body. While digestive enzymes need to be taken with a meal to maximize food breakdown and nutrient absorption, systemic enzymes should be consumed on an empty stomach to maximize absorption into the bloodstream. For best results, take systemic enzymes at least an hour before or two hours after eating. Digestive enzymes: Take with a meal Systemic enzymes: Take on an empty stomach Pro Tip: A variety of “systemic” enzymes are available in supplements. Consider Nattokinase to support circulatory health or Serratiopeptidase to support a healthy inflammatory response.* We hope you have found these general timing guidelines to be helpful. - Fluvic/Humic Cherry Limeade
A refreshing drink recipe just in time for Summer using AzureWell's Fulvic/Humic Blend Ingredients: AzureWell Fulvic/Humic Blend Energy Earth Powder (in glass jar) Organic Lime Juice Lakewood Organic Juices Black Cherry Juice, Pure, Organic Azure Market Honey, Raw, Unheated, Clover AzureWell Collagen, Pure (Deep Water Marine) Nixie Sparkling Water, Black Cherry Lime, Organic Measurements: ¼ Cup of Lime Juice ¼ Cup of Black Cherry Juice 2 Tablespoons of Honey 12 oz Sparkling Water 1 Serving of Fulvic/Humic 1 Scoop of Collagen I love having a variety of drinks - water is wonderful but there is so much flavor potential to it. So throughout the day I change things up. I always start the day off with a glass of plain water but then start to add different things to it or the type of water. This has also proven useful for tracking just where I am at with drinking water throughout the day, something that is important in Arizona no matter the season. In particular this was one I tried out just to see if it could work. The worst that was going to happen was that it would be too fizzy and spill over my cup or taste bad. The first few attempts definitely caused some overflow, which is why it is important to mix the ingredients separately from the sparkling water rather than all at once. The amount of sparkling can vary glass to glass. There are days I’ve made this and had absolutely no bubbles once I started to drink it and then there have been days that some bubbles remained. Steps: Add the ½ cup of lime juice, ½ cup of black cherry juice, a serving of Fulvic/Humic Earth Powder, and a scoop of Deep Water Marine Collagen into a large glass. Stir until well blended. Add in the 2 tablespoons of honey. Stir until smooth. If you prefer ice, this is the step to add some. Slowly pour in the sparkling water, it will foam at the rate being poured. Stir gently to ensure the whole glass will be cold if ice was added. There will be some foam for a few minutes but it is okay to drink. Enjoy your cherry limeade!
- Trace Replace Lemonade
A simple whole food recipe using AzureWell's Trace-Replace Ionic Minerals Ingredients Serving Size of AzureWell Trace-Replace Ionic Minerals 1½ cups of Frozen Blueberries ¼ cup of Lemon Juice Coconut Sugar to taste (Optional but I would start with ¼ cup) 1 cup of filtered water Ice (optional) Steps Place the blueberries, lemon juice, water, and coconut sugar into a blender and blend until smooth. (Optional) Strain liquid to remove blueberry chunks. Pour into cups or a large pitcher. Add AzureWell Trace-Replace Ionic Minerals (for yourself or those who need them) Enjoy! One of my favorite things to drink is flavored lemonade. There is just something about the combination of citrusy sourness and sweet fruits that pairs in a way that I truly believe makes it one of the best beverages (at least during the warmer months). Blueberry lemonade in particular, is one that I find enjoyable to make because it is easy to create and you can enjoy it with the whole family–in my case I had assistance from my godchildren, who were amazing helpers! Crafting flavored lemonades at home has also helped me avoid artificial flavors and dyes that I grew up with. One of my favorites that I drank for years is still widely available and I think about it each time I am out and about. Due to the artificial dyes, I know it’s best to avoid it altogether. It took me a while into my adulthood to understand the connection both had to my health, I won’t elaborate here but perhaps in the future. This has also been a main reason I greatly appreciate what Azure Standard and AzureWell are doing—high standards and labels that make sense. I don’t need to sit and Google each listed ingredient to learn if it is another name for artificial flavors or dyes. I can just look at the labels and feel confident that I am avoiding those two fairly common ingredients. I can feel confident that Azure provides me with products that contain ingredients I can trust.
- Protecting the Gift of Sight
What the Age-Related Eye Disease Studies (AREDS) Reveal… and What It Doesn’t. There are few gifts in life that compare to one of the most precious senses we possess, the ability to see. A gift we often take for granted, until that moment it begins to change. Quietly, subtly, the light begins to dim, then the words we read begin to blur, and the world that was once so crystal clear begins to lose its precious detail. For millions of people, a condition called age-related macular degeneration (AMD) affects the retina, the part of the eye, which is responsible for that crisp detail that gives our vision sharpness and clarity. In response to this, the National Eye Institute, a specialized branch of the National Institutes of Health, initiated a decade-plus of research studies. The results have proven significant. The combination of vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, copper, lutein and zeaxanthin have been clinically validated (including updates as recent as 2025) to reduce the risk of advanced macular degeneration by ~25% . By nourishing the body with this targeted support, individuals facing this condition or those who just want to be proactive, can better position themselves with a real opportunity to safeguard this precious gift of sight. Lutein & Zeaxanthin AREDS’ findings: It was the precise combination of 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin that showed these two carotenoids accumulate directly in the macula and form a part of the eye’s natural defense system to promote macular pigment density and act as a filter against blue light. Those with a high intake of these two nutrients demonstrated a reduced risk of progressing towards advanced macular degeneration. AzureWell’s view: Lutein and zeaxanthin, two nutrients found in marigold flowers, are the primary components actually found in the macula of the eye and are responsible for maintaining the density of our macular pigment. They work together to promote the health of the retina and photoreceptor cells protecting from oxidative stress to support visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and the transmission of visual information - making it easier to distinguish fine details and subtle differences in color and light. Vitamin C & Vitamin E AREDS’ findings: Vitamin C is not just a structural component of the eye but is concentrated in the fluid of the eye, known as the aqueous humor, to help neutralize the free radicals caused by sunlight. And given that the retina cells have a high concentration of fat molecules, it was determined that 500 mg of vitamin C and 400 IU of vitamin E can act together to help protect these lipid-rich membranes from oxidative damage from the sun. AzureWell’s view: AREDS trials specifically used 500 mg of synthetic ascorbic acid, not whole-food vitamin C. Perhaps the results could be more profound with vitamin C in the whole food form, complete with its natural tannins, flavonoids, tyrosinase cofactors and phenolic compounds which may serve more meaningfully to the body’s whole biological function. Relying on high pharmacologic doses of isolated ascorbic acid may overlook the complexity and synergistic design of vitamin C as it exists in whole foods that God has created. It is His whole food nutrients that work precisely within our framework to quietly convey the instructions on how to nourish and restore our balance. Zinc & Copper AREDS’ findings: The studies determined that the inclusion of a high dosage of zinc (80 mg), coupled with copper (2 mg), was essential to the antioxidant enzyme activity and vitamin A metabolism - a central force to slowing the advancement of macular degeneration. Because of the high zinc dosage, their science deemed it necessary to add copper to maintain mineral balance. AzureWell’s view: AREDS proved that this “high dose zinc / copper strategy” reveals the importance these essential nutrients play in maintaining retinal health and reducing the progression of macular degeneration. But from the work of Dr. Alphonso Monzo, ND, we know that copper’s role is not just to “offset” zinc but is the primary driver in facilitating healthy ceruloplasmin activity - the epicenter of our metabolic activity. From this lens, the retina is not simply supported by zinc but by restoring true mineral balance by means of copper bioavailability and proper iron metabolism. It is the balance of all of these essential minerals which are central to ceruloplasmin function, enzymatic activity, mitochondrial energy and oxygen utilization within the eye. Returning to His Wisdom AREDS has provided us valuable insight into some targeted nutrients that can meaningfully slow the progression of age-related macular degeneration - but it reminds us of a deeper truth - the body is not always asking for more force, but for balance. Preserving our vision is not just about protecting the eye but supporting the systems that give it life. Depending on where we are in our health journey, there may be seasons when we need targeted nutrients, isolates, or extracts. As our health realigns, we should always seek to return to His wisdom of whole-food nutrients, thus no longer reacting to loss, but participating in balance and restoration with the gifts we have been given.
- Tending to the Soil Within
Minerals, pH Balance, and Strong Bones When the soil’s health is rich in its essential nutrients, our gardens flourish with resilience and vitality. Conversely, when the soil is depleted, it may become infected with disease, and even the best seeds struggle to reach their fullest potential. The same principle applies to the health of the body. Essential nutrients are foundational to the biological “soil” within us – without them, our ecosystem struggles to thrive, making it difficult for even God’s masterpiece to reach our fullest potential. ___________________________________________________________ Maintaining A Balance pH In this article, we are going to explore a simple health tool that can be a valuable window into your body’s overall resilience – especially bone health. Optimal health comes down to maintaining internal balance, and one of the most overlooked markers is urine pH - a representation of your body’s acid - alkaline balance. Just as minerals are foundational to nourishing the health of the soil, when the body is fueled with the nutrients it needs, especially minerals, our systems can thrive in maintaining an acid-alkaline balance.* Our bones contain far more than just calcium; they house a complex mineral matrix of 12 buffering minerals and over 60 trace minerals. When the body's mineral status is compromised due to poor diet, stress, or lifestyle factors, the body may draw on the bone as a mineral reservoir in a desperate attempt to maintain an acid-alkaline balance. Over time, this quiet demand may place a strain on the mineral foundation that the bone relies on for its strength. When The Body Starts Borrowing From The Bones Our bodies are alkaline by design but acidic in function. Nobel Prize winner, Albert Szent-Györgyi states, “Life is maintained in an alkaline environment, but metabolic processes constantly produce acids.” The body manages this delicate acid-alkaline balance with a quiet precision of the lungs, kidneys, and mineral buffers, all working as a symphony to preserve this harmony. Diet, stress, and environmental toxins can create a much larger acidic burden than the body was ever designed to handle – especially when we are chronically malnourished and mineral intake is inadequate. When these acids accumulate for longer periods of time and the body doesn’t have proper mineral nourishment, it will protect itself (specifically protecting the blood pH) by drawing buffering minerals out of the tissue then eventually from the bone. Research suggests this increased demand may put strain on the bone mineral status (Bushinsky, 1996; Sebastian et al., 2002), and supporting adequate mineral nutrition will help maintain an acid-alkaline balance promoting optimal bone structure and overall physiological function. Monitoring Your Urine pH The kidneys serve as the master control center to this acid-alkaline balance by eliminating excess acids through the urine, and the urine pH, in turn, can provide clues about how the body manages this acid overload. Though the urine pH normally ranges between 4.5 and 8 (Simerville et al., 2005), most clinicians like to monitor the first-morning urine pH (ideally in the range of 6.5-7.5) as a representation of how the body is supporting this balance. You can easily monitor your pH at home by testing your body's first morning urine with test strips. Just dip the strip into your first morning urine, then immediately match the color of the strip to the pH color chart on the roll. The number corresponding to the color tells you the pH – ideally, the pH should stay within a 6.5-7.5 range. Tracking this with your practitioner or health coach on a regular basis can help give you a general sense of how your body is managing its acid-alkaline balance. A urine pH under 6.5 could be an indicator of: High dietary intake of acid-forming foods Low intake of mineral-rich foods High mineral buffering demands Work with your practitioner to monitor your first-morning pH to gain insight into how your body is managing its acid load and mineral buffering systems. Talk to your practitioner about helpful strategies such as dietary balance, supplementing with minerals, and whether the body may be negatively leaching nutrients from the bone to maintain its acid-alkaline equilibrium. *This is not a diagnostic test but a simple tool that supports thoughtful conversations and strategies into maintaining optimal health. What We Cultivate Eventually Becomes What Nourishes Us Just as a wise farmer knows that every abundant harvest is rooted in rich, well-nourished soil, the path to true and lasting wellness begins by properly nourishing the foundational terrain God designed within us. Research consistently demonstrates that when our diets are abundant in mineral buffers from the foods we eat or the supplements we take (see below), they will help regulate the acidic burden in our bodies and promote calcium balance in our bones. Simply monitoring the pH of your urine can offer a small but meaningful glimpse into how our bodies are maintaining balance – while also reminding us that lasting health begins with “tending to the soil within.” 5 Mineral-Rich Foods and Supplements That Support A Healthy pH Balance Foods Supplements 1. - Your Daily Health Report Hidden In Plain Sight
Sometimes the most meaningful health insights into our self-care are waiting for us in the most obvious place we rarely pause to look. More Informative Than a Smartwatch You may not find this topic glamorous, nor is it likely to be something you’re chatting up at the dinner table tonight. But your body takes this seriously and wants to talk about it every day, sometimes several times a day, and yet most of us avoid talking about it at all… until it’s a problem. The food that we eat takes about 18-72 hours to transform into stool for proper elimination. ( Rao SSC, Camilleri M. American Journal of Gastroenterology, 2004 ) From a traditional wellness perspective, health professionals pay special attention to this process, as bowel eliminations are one of the body's most honest forms of communication our body delivers, giving us more clues about our digestive health than a smartwatch. Our Daily Reset to Optimal Digestion Our body is constantly trying to clean, balance, and renew itself through the bowel elimination process – only about 12 tons of it during a lifetime! ( Cummings JH et al., Gut, 1980 )  The lining of our gut is constantly renewing, turning over every three to five days, with millions of its cells shedding into the intestinal tract then exiting through the bowel. ( Van der Flier & Clevers, Cell Stem Cell, 2009 )  This bowel elimination is so important that our body mandates it as a non-negotiable daily exercise. Simply pausing and checking out the contents of the toilet bowl before you flush may be one of the most practical, low-cost, high-value bio-hacks you can do for yourself on an every-day basis. During phase III of liver detoxification, our bile is carrying toxins from the liver to be eliminated by our stool. ( Klaasen CD, Watkins JB. Toxicological Sciences, 2010 )  When these bowel eliminations are optimal, our skin is more radiant, our hormones are balanced, and our energy is optimal. But when sluggish, these toxins can be reabsorbed and what was yesterday’s toxin can become today’s burden - and the body feels it. ( Hofmann AF. Gastroenterology, 1999 ) Making Sense of What Is Normal Okay, so now that we have slowed down enough to smell the roses, what are we looking for? It’s not just about frequency, but quality also matters. The Bristol Stool Chart (below) can help make sense of this information, giving us perspective on how we are maintaining the natural health of our stool. Normal bowel habits will vary from different colors, sizes, and odors (even passing gas is normal),but what is just as important is the ease of which you are able to eliminate with no strain or pain. Let’s take a look and see how we are adding up. The Bristol Stool Awareness Questionnaire: An educational tool for self-awareness of bowel patterns and habits.* Instructions: Reflect on the questions below based on your average experience in the past 2 weeks. The scoring is educational only and not diagnostic and does not indicate the presence or absence of any medical condition.  How Our Eliminations Work and What Keeps It Working Our stool health is the downstream product representing a coordinated effort to digest our food by multiple systems like the stomach, pancreas, microbiome, liver, and gallbladder. But our bowels are not just responding to food; it’s actually orchestrated by the enteric nervous systems - also known as our “second brain.” Extra-curricular lifestyle factors like travel, stress, and exercise can quietly or dramatically influence these electrical circuits, altering our gut motility and elimination patterns. The following are 5 Foundational Food Elements to help maintain a healthy bowel*: WATER: Your colon acts as your human reservoir, making your stool 70%-75% water but also reclaiming over a liter of water per day. ( Guyton & Hall, Textbook of Medical Physiology )  So when dehydrated, your stool becomes hard and dry making it difficult to pass. MINERALS: 85% - 90% of water absorption in the intestine is dependent on mineral transport mechanisms to help with fluid balance in the stool. Minerals like magnesium, salt, and potassium regulate these processes to maintain water movement and promote smooth muscle contraction of the colon. ( Feldman M et al. Gastroenterology, 1996 )  This age-related shift can affect the chemical breakdown of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, contributing to common sensations like bloating or increased discomfort with certain foods. Supporting your digestion with targeted hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes around meals can help bridge the gap to support nutrient breakdown while promoting healthy digestive function.* AzureWell Recommendations:  NS1825 Digestive Enzymes, Mid-Meal Every Meal , NS2071 Betaine HCL, After Meal Digestive Aid It’s a Daily Health Clue Worth Taking a Look At Our health isn't always about what we see on a lab report. If we just pause for a brief moment and listen to what our body is telling us, we can learn how to empower ourselves to balance, renew and support the very systems that sustain us. Healthy elimination reflects how well our digestion, detoxification, and lifestyle systems are all in harmony. Sometimes the most meaningful health insights into our self-care are waiting for us in the most obvious place we rarely pause to look.
- The Whispering Science of Men’s Health
Long Before the Noise For such a long time, men’s health has been treated like a waiting game: Wait until our energy shifts, wait until our numbers drift out of range, wait until something is interfering with our quality of life… wait until something breaks then let's see if we can fix it. But new science is beginning to tell a different story, bringing a sharper focus to the patterns that are showing up, clearly defining interconnected processes long before a diagnosis is ever made. Prostate changes, muscle loss, metabolic imbalances, immune response and hormonal shifts are no longer viewed as separate issues but interwoven biological whispers asking for attention well before anything is officially “wrong.” Here’s a look at emerging science reshaping men’s health, which now views prevention as a proactive act rather than reacting to isolated problems: 1.    Hidden In Plain Sight : Men have always been told that prostate changes were an unavoidable part of just getting older. We now know that prostate dysfunction is directly associated with higher insulin resistance, high body fat percentages and elevated inflammatory markers causing immune cells to appear in prostate tissue long before noticeable symptoms come to surface. The implication is clear: by focusing early on lifestyle and nutritional support we can soften the metabolic stress , preserve function and quietly step away from the storyline that labels us as just another statistic. 2.    Your Strength Is Your Biological Advantage : Healthy muscle tone in men is not just about appearance but deeply matters for long term resilience serving as a regulatory organ helping: regulate blood sugar, insulin sensitivity, releasing myokines (signaling molecules that connect the immune and endocrine systems) and acting as a nutrient reservoir during times of need. Preserving healthy muscle tone through adequate nutrition and intentional movement through exercise shouldn’t just be a fitness goal but a cornerstone to metabolic health and resilience to age-related decline. 3.    Your Sacred Preventative: New evidence now makes it clear that sleep is no longer optional. When men get less than 7-8 hours of sleep per night, their core regulatory systems quietly begin to drift, affecting vascular, immune, metabolic, urinary and reproduction systems. Years before disease even enters into the picture, testosterone levels may appear normal, thus suggesting how sleep affects function vs how it is measured. The course of action is simple but yet urgent: sleep needs to be viewed as a sacred preventative preserving function and resilience long before symptoms force attention. 4.    The Microbiome Beyond Digestion:  Human studies continue to reveal the microbiome’s influence on the body beyond its role in the digestive system. Men with prostate concerns often present distinct inflammatory microbiome profiles and altered bile metabolism. The health of the gut-immune-prostate axis could be foundational in supporting prostate health by targeting the intestinal tract, specifically the microbiome, to regulate a healthy inflammatory response in supporting the immune function of the prostate gland. 5.    The Quiet Epidemic : Research highlighted by the National Institute of Health and Association of American Medical Colleges shows mental health is a powerful upstream driver that shapes heart, immune, metabolic and overall longevity. Often masked by the delay or the will to never seek help, men’s unwillingness to address their desperate cry can often cascade into physical symptoms of crisis. The result is a silent awakening to an underlying depression that has manifested itself to a chronic disease or even worse – suicide – an awareness to an epidemic four times more prevalent in men than women. The implication is clear and not one that should be recognized as a secondary issue, but a core determinant that demands the preventative attention well before it hardens to a disease. The science is clear, inviting men to reframe their fear-based reaction in crisis to now informed attention as prevention. From our interconnected systems of muscle metabolism and gut health to sleep and mental resilience, the evidence shows decline is not a sudden fate but a gradual process that can be engaged before it accelerates. Long before anything feels wrong or lab values reveal a diagnosable change, our body offers an invitation of resilience embodying regulation, adaptation and restoration. In this new light, men's health is no longer about waiting for thresholds to be crossed nor permission to act, but listening and answering with intention. A focused stewardship empowering the interconnected systems to quietly thrive early and deliberately, before they are forced to ask louder.
- Cod Liver Oil
A Family Staple with a Long History One of the things I love about cod liver oil is its long history. Way back before modern supplements, families relied on it as a daily ritual. In the 1700s and 1800s, cod liver oil became a trusted staple in Northern Europe, traditionally used to help sustain strength, resilience, and overall vitality for those under immune stress. By the mid-1800s, it was a standard recommendation for children in cities with little sunlight. In the early 1900s, giving kids a spoonful of cod liver oil every day was a common household rule. Ask around, and you’ll still find grandparents who remember lining up in the kitchen for their daily spoonful—though not always fondly, because of the taste! Unfortunately, its popularity faded in the 1960s and 70s once foods were widely fortified, and advertising convinced people it was no longer needed. But the wisdom behind the practice never went away. Often the most powerful supports are the simplest ones. That’s why I appreciate AzureWell Alaskan Cod Liver Oil today. It carries forward that same tradition of whole-food nutrition, in a form the body instantly recognizes. More Than Just “Fish Oil” Cod liver oil has been around for generations for a reason. It’s not just “fish oil” — it’s a whole-food source of vitamin A, vitamin D, and omega-3s that work together in a unique way. I think about it at the cell cellular level: • Omega-3 fatty acids become part of your cell membranes, keeping them flexible and responsive. • Vitamins A and D act like conductors, supporting normal gene expression so cells can adapt and function. • Omega-3s and Vitamin E help support the body’s natural defenses against oxidative stress. Together, these nutrients support healthy communication inside the body, resilience to everyday stress and steady energy. It’s simple, foundational nutrition. Why AzureWell’s Cod Liver Oil Stands Out Not every cod liver oil is created equal. Some brands strip out nutrients during processing and then add synthetic vitamins back in, often at levels that don’t match nature. That practice defeats the purpose of whole-food nutrition in its natural ratios. What sets AzureWell’s Alaskan Cod Liver Oil apart is its careful sourcing and minimal processing. It keeps the natural balance of vitamins and fatty acids intact—exactly the way the body recognizes and uses them. These qualities make it one I feel good about recommending. How I Use Cod Liver Oil in Practice In my daily work at Vital Pulse Center, I typically begin with the manufacturer’s recommended daily serving of AzureWell Alaskan Cod Liver Oil as a foundational part of a wellness routine. I don’t use it as a short-term “fix,” but as steady nourishment—just like many traditional cultures did. When the body is consistently supplied with these natural nutrients in their whole-food form, I often see overall adaptability, energy, joint and skin comfort, and stronger seasonal resilience supported. Rather than using cod liver oil only when something feels off, I encourage people to think of it as daily nutritional upkeep—like hydration or sunshine. When it’s used consistently at the recommended amount, many notice subtle but meaningful improvements over time in how they feel day to day. In practice, this kind of quiet, foundational support often helps everything else in a wellness plan work more smoothly. It doesn’t force the body—it simply gives the body what it has relied on for generations. Find out more about Kaloa Divine  on our Find-a-Practitioner directory. - The Performing Heart
A Well-Supported Heart Doesn’t Just Beat - It Performs Whether it’s flu season or time for a liver cleanse, your heart is always on beat, showing up for every season of life. No matter how chaotic the world becomes — every stress, every joy, every late-night worry — your heart is expected to stay strong and steady, adapting to the highs and lows of how you live, breathe, and take care of yourself day in and day out. With everything this world is asking of us, our hearts may require greater intention and targeted support. Below are five powerful nutrients that can help keep your heart on track, leaving you feeling supported when stress is coming from every direction.        1. PQQ + CoQ10 : Your heart runs on energy, and PQQ with CoQ10 functions together to directly support ATP production in the heart while promoting mitochondrial biogenesis.* It’s like the gas and oil to the engine — when these two are plentiful, the overall system runs steadier, clearer, and more efficiently with its output. 2. Cod Liver Oil :  This timeless family remedy is backed by decades of science demonstrating its support to the brain, heart, eyes, and all the cells in your body.* Specifically for the heart, Cod Liver Oil’s essential fatty acids (DHA and EPA) have pro-resolving mediators that help regulate eicosanoid pathways, promoting a healthy inflammatory response essential for flexible, efficient blood flow.* 3. Magnesium :  An essential mineral that helps your nerves settle, your muscles relax, and your sleep deepen.* I like to think of it as equivalent to an exhale of a breath — the breath you didn’t know you were holding in until it finally left the body. As for the heart, magnesium promotes a more harmonious rhythm, supporting a smooth myocardial contraction and relaxation, maintaining a healthy vascular tone.*   4.  Garlic :  Garlic has always been revered as bold, not so much in beauty but definitely in taste and how it fiercely supports healthy circulation and immune strength.* Garlic’s primary active compound, allicin, directly supports healthy platelet function, promoting optimal vascular dilation and smooth blood flow.* 5. L-Carnitine : We have spoken about ATP with PQQ & CoQ10 and Cod Liver Oil’s precious fats, DHA & EPA. L-carnitine performs a highly specialized job, escorting fatty acids straight into the mitochondria for ATP production.* And while it is responsible for this transport into the cell, it also carries the metabolic trash out the back door to maintain optimal cell function.* While most people do well with 250-500 mg, those who need more targeted support may go up to 1 gram per day.  Your heart is with you every step of the way, performing a continuous, high-precision biochemical symphony. It’s not simply beating but is highly dependent on steady mitochondrial energy, nutrient transport, vascular integrity, and cellular fuel. The nutrients above are not superficial wishful thinking but examples of how small, targeted decisions can interact with real mechanisms of the body to shift entire physiologic systems: energy production, vascular tone, lipid signaling, nitric oxide pathways, and cellular fuel utilization.* Biochemistry at its finest, performing real results.*
- This is the Year
Fuel The New You and Reclaim What Your Health Deserves Real Food, Real Nutrients, Real Results Okay, this is the year! Expectations are high — we’re finally going to take better care of ourselves. But this time, we’re starting simple. No extreme resolutions or rigid diets — just a sustainable approach that delivers real results, with real nutrients, from real food: lasting energy, vitality, and health. Food. That’s right, real food — all packed into a tiny capsule. Not the make-believe kind that makes you THINK you’re getting everything you need, but the kind that comes from a food your body can actually recognize, orchestrate and use.  Let’s be honest, from the everyday stress, lack of sleep or the constant exposure to environmental toxins, even the best diets sometimes fall short. AzureWell’s Whole Food Multi-Vitamin isn’t your typical “one-a-day”. All of it is made from real food, with real organic plants from real farms — not lab processed chemicals made from a Petri dish. The difference is more than what lands on the label, it’s how your body understands how to use these nutrients. A Whole Food Multi-Vitamin — Without Synthetic Injections You see, when your body sees whole food vitamin C from amla berry, it recognizes it as food, because it is  food. When you have full spectrum, whole food vitamin C, with all of its tannins, polyphenols and bioflavonoids, your body recognizes it differently than 1000 milligrams of synthetic vitamin C and you get better absorption, better support and fewer mystery side effects.   Sure, we all recognize vitamin C is great for the immune system, but what’s nice about this multi-vitamin is it’s complimented by a whole host of immune factors like garlic extract (rich in allicin) and reishi mushrooms all brought together to help the body adapt and bolster the immune system.* And when the body is facing stress, instead of using synthetic copper or selenium, this formula relies on food form trace minerals that are critical to cell signaling and immune strength.* It’s The Sustained Energy That Matters * I get it, our days are packed with kids, work and everything else that brings joy, or stress, to our life. Unfortunately, so many of us reach for that coffee or energy boost to push us through the day. But that caffeine spike is usually followed by a late day crash, leaving our adrenals wasted, and setting our body up for systemic imbalances and exhaustion. Folks, it’s not the “jolt” that’s needed here. The goal is waking up feeling rejuvenated and maintaining that steady, all-day clarity and stamina.* AzureWell’s Whole Food Multi-Vitamin provides whole food plant-sourced B vitamins to help your body produce natural energy at the cellular level.* With MCTs and fulvic acid — both known for supporting mitochondrial function and mental clarity — it will deliver the necessary minerals to regulate neurotransmitters and support memory, focus and emotional resilience.* We don’t always think of a multi-vitamin as being able to deliver all these health benefits — immune system health, sustained energy, cognitive health, bone strength, emotional stability, hormone balance, gut reinforcement — but when the nutrients are whole food, balanced and clean… they truly can!* What About All The “Other Ingredients” In Supplements? I hear you, but what about those “other ingredients” they typically use in the manufacturing process? Nope! We just use food, no synthetic injections or additives what-so-ever. No tablets, synthetic fillers or flow aids (like magnesium stearate). And just as important, you won’t find GMO ingredients — just real, scientifically verified ingredients tested by third-party labs. What’s on the label is what’s in the capsule — no surprises! It’s A Simple Way to Set Yourself Up for Success You don’t have to make promises to conquer the world all at once. Starting a new wellness chapter can be as simple as AzureWell’s Whole Food Multi, and that’s not hype. It’s not flashy, and it’s not magic, but a small, easy, promise you can offer yourself day in and day out. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that can create the biggest shift, delivering real, sustainable results. It’s a type of self-care that doesn't have to be complicated — gentle but yet powerful. Real plant-based nutrients that support steady energy, a resilient immune system and a more balanced mood. It's one simple, easy step that can be a powerful way to start your new year!*
- Lyme Beyond The Bite
What Does Lyme Teach Us About Chronic Stress and Whole-Body Healing For most of us, Lyme is not a common household name. But for others, we think of tick bites or potentially something that can reveal a much bigger story that speaks to the mysteries some of us face in our health and in wellness. Research continues to demonstrate this: the Lyme conversation is rarely as simple as a tick bite. Beneath these cast shadows of unanswered questions to its mysterious and frustrating symptoms, lies a deeper truth to the true nature of all chronic illness. For many, when we examine this beyond a single diagnosis, Lyme reveals something broader. It is the gateway to a cascade of many stressors that join forces against an already stressed body ( Steere et al., 2004 ). It’s not so much about what bit you, but more about how your body was stressed before and after. The Tipping Point So many “mystery illnesses” are not random but often reflect a slow erosion of vitality from long-term stress of unmet nutrient deficiencies, silent toxicity and hidden infections ( Marshall, 2004 ). Allopathically, quantifying the microbe activity doesn’t always add up. When the cumulative stress of heavy metals, mold toxins, pesticides and emotional stress all converge, its cumulative burden ( Stricker & Johnson, 2011 ), known as the “threshold phenomenon”, can tip the scales into a state of overwhelm ( Klinghardt, 2007 ). This explains why one person exposed to Lyme may feel fine, while another spirals miserably into years of illness ( Horowitz, 2013 ). They Can’t Run, But They Can Hide It's heartbreaking, but many are told labs are "normal" and yet they still suffer for years - you are not alone! Lyme often weaves deep inside immune cells where standard tests like ELISA and Western Blot can miss it entirely ( Brunner et al., 2001 ). What’s especially humbling, is that microbes communicate with each other and change shape in an attempt to adapt to their environment ( Enderlein, 1998 ). And so it becomes clear, identifying “the bug” may not be as important as restoring the terrain to make it uninhabitable. We’re All Wired A Little Differently Research shows some people are simply wired differently, thus carrying the burden of toxins in dissimilar ways. The quiet reality for many is within the genetic differences of their detoxification pathways (like glutathione, methylation, or apolipoprotein E), making it harder for some to clear out environmental and microbial stressors ( Kalb et al., 2005; Deth et al., 2008 ). In some cases, this burden could provoke the immune system to start attacking itself through molecular mimicry ( Wucherpfennig, 2001 ). This autoimmune phenomena may explain why some cases with Lyme present as if they have MS, Parkinson or other neurodegenerative representations ( Ramesh et al., 2013 ) What Lyme Has Taught Us If you are healing from something complex, herein lies the gift. The truth is Lyme, like all health challenges, is not as simple as an infection and chasing the symptoms is not the answer. It’s a multi-system, multi-pathogen, multi-toxin whole-body storm of overlapping burdens relentlessly stressing every part of the body, mind and spirit. And so, this complexity requires us to ask the body what it needs to feel safe enough to heal - a comprehensive, multi-layered, deeply personalized approach… and yeah, a little patience too! What might be a protocol for one becomes the insight for many. It reminds us that true restoration isn’t about fighting one bug, but nurturing the symphony that orchestrates our healing systems – fueling the mitochondrial engines, supporting the detoxification pathways while restoring harmony to the neuroendocrine system. No matter what unrelenting stress your health is facing, work with your healthcare professional to identify what your body is asking for and create a clear path forward that addresses the root, not just the ripple: Alkalinize your diet Reduce environmental stressors Energize with essential nutrients Support the detoxification pathways Promote the immune system Balance the gut Restore the neuro-endocrine system Exercise the lymphs Achieve a healthy mind and spirit Sleep 8 hours back into its natural rhythm of healing. Sometimes the most profound healing begins with honoring what’s real, creating stillness, and aligning with the sacred intelligence already woven within the body’s design.
- Cracking the Code
10 Questions to Ask Yourself When Reading Dietary Supplement Labels 1. Are dietary supplements regulated at all by the FDA?  Yes. While the FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold, we are required to ensure our products are safe, properly labeled, and meet the quality standards of the FDA. The FDA actively monitors the market, to make sure supplements meet certain standards for consumer protection. At AzureWell, we exceed these industry standards in Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) by: #1. Providing full transparency to all ingredients used including their potencies #2. Steering away from the use of non-nutritive chemicals commonly used in the manufacturing process #3. Use an extended list of third party laboratories to perform rigorous testing.  2. How many servings will this dietary supplement last me?  To determine how long a product will last, check the servings per container, the serving size, and the recommended use or dosage instructions that are on the back of the label. Divide the total servings by how many you take per day. For example, if a product has 30 servings and the directions say to take it 3 times a day, the product will last 10 days. Simply use the formula: (Total Servings) ÷ (Servings Per Day) = Number of Days the product will last. At AzureWell, we prioritize transparency to the number of servings at the effective dose in hopes to achieve about a month’s supply for each product.   3. How do I know the product I am buying is still fresh?  At AzureWell, we prioritize product freshness and potency, providing the manufactured date on our packaging, so you know exactly when the product was made ensuring transparency about the product's age and quality. We research the most effective and natural delivery forms to maintain the volatile compounds of the active ingredients (i.e. AzureWell’s Alaskan Cod Liver Oil is in the triglyceride form vs. the molecularly distilled ethyl-ester form, which is unstable). We recommend storing our supplements in a cool, dry place to maintain their freshness. 4. Are the supplements backed by science? Yes. When we make a health claim that a particular ingredient supports the health of the body, the statement is typically based on an ingredient that is typically listed at the top or highlighted in the health claim (e.g., "supports immune health with Vitamin C"). Check if the panel lists this ingredient by name along with its amount or potency, such as in milligrams (mg) or international units (IU). The amount of that ingredient, by law, needs to align with the claim being made. Unfortunately sometimes products mention ingredients in the claim but amounts are to low and are ineffective. Always compare the listed amount of that ingredient with what is considered an effective dose for the desired health benefit. AzureWell fully discloses every ingredient and its potency, that way we can provide nutrients in their most clinically effective form. 5. Does the label have “Proprietary Blends” that hide ingredient amounts?  At AzureWell, we firmly believe that every ingredient in a product plays an active role in your health. We reject the industry norm of proprietary blends that obscure ingredient dosages.  We are fully transparent in disclosing all ingredients and their dosages on the AzureWell product labels.  6. Are there any “non-nutritive” excipients listed, and what role do they play in this supplement?  “Excipients” is a term used to describe ingredients that may aid in the manufacturing process or act as fillers. AzureWell is  committed to safeguarding your health with pure and natural health products  by avoiding commonly used excipients that we feel have enough substantiated science suggesting their potential adverse effects to your immune system and overall wellness. We work with leading experts to source, and rigorously test all of our products to ensure the ingredients used in our products are safe and free from any potentially harmful substances. 7. Does the brand disclose all ingredients, even those making up less than 2% of the product? AzureWell believes in empowering consumers to make informed decisions about their health, which is why we ensure you know exactly what's in every product.  There are no ingredients hidden behind the wall of "GRAS" (Generally Recognized As Safe) or not disclosed because it is less than 2% of the formulation. We are dedicated to complete transparency, fully disclosing all ingredients in our supplements, even those that make up less than 2% of the product. This information is clearly listed on the Supplement Facts panel or in the Other Ingredients section on our labels. 8. The label on my bottle lacks detailed information; how can I learn more about the product?  At AzureWell we do our best to provide clear, detailed labels, but if you need more information, visit our website or contact our customer service team. We're committed to transparency and quality, backed by third-party certifications and consumer reviews to give you confidence in your choice. 9. What is a CoA? Should I really ask for a CoA?  A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is a document that confirms the quality, purity, and potency of a dietary supplement through end product testing. It verifies that the product meets label claims and is free from harmful contaminants. Please contact AzureWell anytime to ask us for a CoA. We realize this provides the transparency and assurance that you're getting a safe, high quality product. In the future we hope to be able to make this readily available to you online. 10. Is AzureWell responsible for the product as a legal dietary supplement?  Yes. AzureWell directly oversees every step of the manufacturing process, maintaining documented control over ingredient procurement, formulation, production, and final testing. AzureWell strictly follows the Current Good Manufacturing Practices of 21CFR111 of the FDA, making sure that every product meets the highest industry standards for purity, potency, composition, identity and pathogen microbiology. From the selection of raw materials to performing end-product testing, our team of scientists, including 3rd party manufacturers and laboratories, are safeguarding you from adulterated ingredients that could be affecting the supply chain.
- Practitioner Picks
Our AzureWell Practitioner's Favorite Supplements In my practice and growing philosophy in understanding the body and the pathways to healing, choosing one supplement as a favorite has become very difficult! I am going to highlight a current favorite supplement on my list, which is Mid-Meal Every Meal Digestive Enzymes  from AzureWell. While writing this, I am 8 months into a beautiful pregnancy with our second child. As many can relate, pregnancy has seemingly unlimited potential to bring forth many symptoms that are rare to the mother otherwise. Things like morning sickness, fatigue, constipation, skin changes, swollen extremities, heartburn, and acid reflux to name a few. I am no exception; at around 6 months in both of my pregnancies, I have experienced acid reflux. I dug out the Mid Meal Every Meal, Digestive Enzymes  and began utilizing it as a support to my body. Sometimes, care like this is enough for restoration of the body or resolution of symptoms. Other times, this is the catalyst that frees up some of the underlying energetic congestions to allow for the capacity to explore additional streams of restoration. The key to optimizing your use of supplements is to find the products that embrace the commitment to purity, whole foods, and hold the understanding of our bodies and nature around us being expertly created by a Creator who cares. This is why I wholeheartedly recommend and support the AzureWell line. Their understanding of Creation and unwavering commitment to their beliefs, allow for supplements that can truly be utilized by the body in the fullest capacity. I hope this helps you in your journey to abundant health! Find out more about Nicole Kallstrom  on our Find-a-Practitioner directory. - Freeing The Invisible Weight
A Gentle Path To Restoring Hormone Radiance, Naturally I want to share with you a personal story, not from the podium of a health professional, but as a husband, watching the woman I love battle something invisible but deeply real - postpartum hormone imbalance. Kelly was 37 at the time and a true force of nature who had recovered naturally, beautifully, after our 3 rd  child was born. Yes, she was tired, sure - we both were! But she was radiant, grounded, capable, loving. She nursed, she nested, she showed up fully for all of us every day and every night. But as the months turned into years, quietly, slowly, something started to shift. At first, it was subtle. Her day-to-day vitality didn’t seem to bounce back the way it used to. Her emotions felt a little more volatile. And even though our little guy was sleeping through the night, her sleep became fragmented and restless. Little by little, new symptoms became impossible to ignore. Her joints ached, and her cycles were no longer just inconvenient, they were overwhelming. And then her once-lush hair, began to fill the brush more and more with each passing week. Through all of this, on the outside, she was still that same, strong, loving, incredible woman. But, on the inside, an invisible imbalance was clinging onto her joy like a backpack full of bricks that no one else could see. Honestly, I didn’t even see it happening. There was no abrupt moment of collapse, just a slow unraveling that crept in so subtly we both almost missed it. We decided not to go the conventional route of lab work or quick pharmaceutical fixes. Not because we are anti-medicine but in discernment, trusting a different kind of healing was needed for her. We both knew her body wasn’t broken, it was just a little out of rhythm. And rather than overriding her with chemical signals, we knew we could honor its wisdom and naturally restore its innate intelligence back into harmony. So we leaned to the sacred tools that have always guided us – prayer, nourishing foods, daily movement, intentional rest, and the quiet healing of nature’s apothecary. This wasn’t a crisis, it was an invitation to heal, and we finally started to listen. Healing Begins With Nature’s Prescription Balancing the body doesn't always come from a remedy found in a capsule. Sometimes healing begins by the earth we stand on, or quiet intentional breathing, or through the warmth of our sun. We all know the hormone system, often referred to as the neuroendocrine system, is deeply connected to the nervous system. So Kelly and I became intentional, every sunny morning that we were gifted with, grounding our bodies to the earth while focusing deeply on slow breathing exercises. These simple practices - grounding, deep breathing, and sunlight - are nature's prescription to nurture your inner calm to balance your stress response, allowing you to restore your equilibrium naturally. Sleep Is Not A Luxury Sleep became sacred, and we protected her with this rest, fiercely. We cut out screens in the evening, dimmed the lights and diffused calming oils. We supplemented with Melatonin and Racing Mind Relief to nourish the body’s calm.* According to UC Berkley, getting 8 hours of sleep can affect emotional stress levels and provide a restorative power that affects memory, immune function, mood and emotions. Neuroscientist Mathew Walker claims deep sleep as a natural anxiety inhibitor, so as long as we get it each and every night. Feeding the System That Feeds You We cut back on sugar, added more healthy fats, proteins, and minerally rich alkalizing foods to support the raw materials her body needed to support hormonal balance. Alkalizing your diet with a broad array of mineral rich foods is the perfect way to deliver a solid foundation of critical vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and essential fatty acids (EFAs) necessary to maintain a balanced neuroendocrine system. Free radicals can be devastating to our systems, generating an excitotoxic response adversely affecting healthy mood, relaxation and hormone balance. Adequate minerals (especially magnesium), antioxidants and EFAs are baseline requirements to support our neuroendocrine system.* Supporting Hormones With Grace Kelly’s hormone imbalance didn't come on like a storm. It crept in quietly, almost easy to miss, leaving subtle changes making her feel out of sync. One of the most positive impactful shifts came when we gently supported her estrogen metabolism, without overriding or forcing anything, but allowing her body to process hormones the way it was designed to.* We turned to AzureWell’s Men’s & Women’s Estrogen Balance to give her body the nudge it needed to process estrogen into its more beneficial forms.* The Woman's Feminine Balance complemented it beautifully and became a steady, soothing presence, grounding her emotional calm and bringing balance back to her cycle.* We had to be patient with it as it didn’t force her body to react now. But with time, I watched her reclaim her joy, her rhythms, her vibrant inner glow. When Exhaustion Speaks Louder Than Words By the time we realized how this stress had worn her body down, her adrenals were crying out for help. Her stress response left her exhausted, anxious, and easily overwhelmed. We started by replenishing her adrenals with essential nutrients found in Adrenal Food .* Then later started supporting her system with AdrenaNew Adaptogen , full of balancing herbs to help steady cortisol swings.* These tools, alongside of Trace-Replace Minerals , helped her body regulate stress more gracefully, restoring her energy during the day while allowing her to find her calm during the night.* It wasn’t about masking symptoms, we were building a foundation of lasting resilience at the core. As protective hormones like DHEA, progesterone, and pregnenolone begin to decline in our 30s and beyond, science suggests that maintaining hormonal balance in these areas, particularly an ideal cortisol-to-DHEA ratio, can have profound implications for both our health and vitality.* Supporting her cortisol-to-DHEA ratio was a key strategy that I felt was necessary to implement.* By understanding this, we gave her body the tools to adapt, recover, and truly thrive again.* Trusting The Wisdom Within And here’s the truth, Kelly’s success didn’t unfold in a perfect line. It came in waves, rising and falling like a tide. Some days were harder than others, and some weeks were slower than we hoped. But as the months became seasons, we saw change - slowly, softly, her overall trend was upward. Her cycles found rhythm and her face softened with peace. As her partner, if there is one thing I've learned walking beside her with all of this, is that hormone imbalance isn’t always loud or obvious. Most of the time it drifts quietly, only whispering bouts of fatigue, or just acting as that silent sense of just not feeling quite right. But those gentle whispers are valid and worth listening to. Sometimes true healing means choosing to nourish rather than trying to over-ride and fix everything. When we choose to listen with patience and compassion instead of control, we allow space to invite the body back into its natural rhythm of healing. Sometimes the most profound healing begins with honoring what’s real, creating stillness, and aligning with the sacred intelligence already woven within the body’s design.

Again, your microbiome is where the immune system begins. Helping it thrive with fermented foods can restore harmony where it matters most. Hydrate! Every one of your trillion+ immune cells depends on hydration to thrive. Don't just sip. Hydrate with mineral-rich water, and do it with a purpose. Research confirms that slow, deep breathing shifts the nervous system, inviting peace back into your immune cells. With each mindful exhale, you give your immune system a sigh of relief. Your Immune Potential is Limitless Immune health doesn’t come from a kazoo of flashy synthetic powders; it's a daily practice of mindful choices influencing our body's ability to defend, recover, and thrive. Your immune system is as beautiful as it is complex. Whether you are hydrating with humic/fulvic mineral water or being intentional with your breath, when we nourish with God's provision — real food, restorative rest, and nature’s wisdom — we can align with His sacred design, which has the immune potential to achieve limitless healing.*
- A Higher Standard Of Excellence
At AzureWell, we uphold an uncompromising standard of excellence, honoring the wisdom of nature, the clarity of truth and the power of nourishment in its purest form. Our core principle is that nutrients should primarily come from whole-food sources, delivered in their full spectrum of cofactors and synergistic phyto-compounds needed for optimal absorption, utilization, and balance within the body. Total Oversight from Sourcing to Finished Product:  In an industry where supplement brands often rely on third-party manufacturers with little transparency or oversight, a significant gap remains in quality assurance, traceability, and accountability - making it difficult for practitioners to safeguard the integrity of the products they recommend and sell. AzureWell is directly responsible for the Quality Assurance at every step of the manufacturing process maintaining documented control over ingredient procurement, formulation, production, and final testing. We strictly follow the Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) of 21CFR111 of the FDA, ensuring that every product meets the highest industry standards for safety, purity, and potency. Transparency:  The details of many brands’ formulas are often obscured behind terms like “proprietary blend” or the FDA’s “GRAS” (Generally Recognized as Safe) classification, using it as a loophole to hide the amounts of their ingredients and the presence of industrially processed excipients and synthetic additives. We are presenting 100% transparency with each label, clearly listing every ingredient along with their amounts and potencies.. Our commitment is to avoid industrial processing loopholes that could allow synthetic additives to be presented as “natural” claims. No Non-Nutritive Excipients, Ever:  AzureWell takes a firm stand against the use of non-nutritive excipients. Non-nutritive excipients are the synthetic fillers, binders, and processing aids that offer zero nutritional value but are commonly found in the supplement industry. Magnesium Stearate is an example of a non-nutritive excipient that is ubiquitous in supplements these days. AzureWell provides a comprehensive list of excipients we refuse to use, ensuring that every component of our products serves a nutritional or functional purpose. Industry-Leading Testing & Purity Standards:  AzureWell's supplements undergo extensive testing to verify botanical identities and the use of potential contaminants such as: herbicides, pesticides, heavy metals and residual solvents. Our team of scientists hold the AzureWell brand to a standard that goes beyond “Organic” and “Non-GMO” certifications utilizing phytoforensic technologies and scientific analytical methods, including HPLC, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry to safeguard AzureWell ingredients from unwanted chemical excipients and non-nutritive additives. Backed By Science:  Every health claim we make is rooted in credible, scientific evidence (and tested on humans), reinforcing our dedication to delivering effective, research-backed nutritional support that consumers and practitioners can trust. We adhere to and even exceed the FDA’s standards of transparency and scientific integrity as seen in our Product Standards . We ensure each health claim is clearly represented by the primary ingredients, along with their precise amounts, as required by the FDA’s Supplement Facts panel regulations. Unlike some brands that include trace amounts of key ingredients for marketing purposes, we go beyond this practice and formulate our products with clinically substantiated dosages proven by science, using amounts that have been demonstrated in human scientific studies to be both safe and effective. Honoring the Bioenergetic Design of God’s Creation W e recognize the constitution of the human body encompasses more than mere biochemical reactions - it is God's masterpiece of physical, electrical and vibrational energy - created with the inherent wisdom and ability to sustain life, maintain balance and, when healthy, radiate vitality.  Literally reflecting the light of our Creator, every one of our trillions of cells emits light particles, called biophotons, that come from the cellular DNA. These biophotons cross the cell membrane allowing it to resonate at specific energetic frequencies, orchestrated in perfect harmony with His natural world. Beyond nutritional value, the foods we consume and the supplements we take are most impactful when they are in coherence with the harmony of God's creation or, conversely, they can create subtle imbalances, negatively impacting our wellbeing. For this reason, we use cutting-edge technology enabling us to hold uncompromising bioenergetic standards for the AzureWell brand, carefully selecting nutrients that emit pure, coherent frequencies, designed to resonate with the body’s natural energy field. This approach is not just about delivering nutritional compounds, it’s about honoring the vibrational design of the body and ensuring what we put into it supports that design, rather than interfering with it. What we don't see, does matter! Unnatural, non-nutritive ingredients can unknowingly induce chaotic or incoherent energy patterns - literally frequencies at odds  with the body's natural energetic balance. AzureWell goes beyond typical supplement standards by formulating without unnatural toxic excipients that can distort or block a nutrient’s beneficial energetic patterns. Every AzureWell product undergoes rigorous testing, not just for purity and potency, but also to ensure that its given vibrational integrity is preserved. Everything in nature was created with a software system and hardware systems. For decades, science has used technology to measure the electrical state of various body systems and the transfer of information via the body's nervous system. With the latest technology, we can see and easily understand the hardware of the body such as chemistry, cells, tissues, etc. However, the software system is unseen and made up of information carried by energetic signature vibrations. All substances in nature (including foods and nutrients) have this quality built in. At AzureWell, we want our products to match God's design, which is discernible in nature and observed in healthy biological systems, so we do what we can to ensure those natural energetic signatures are maintained in every product. We take every step necessary to maintain each ingredient’s unique energetic signature so the frequencies remain as pristine as originally tested. This process reflects our commitment to honoring both the biochemical and energetic aspects of human health, staying true to how nature, and ultimately God, designed us to thrive.
- Why Should I Care What Soap I Use?
Does it matter what you put on your skin? Skin is the largest organ of the body. And what you put on it matters because your skin absorbs much of what is applied to it. Over time, chemical additives  in skin products can build up in your body, adding to your toxic load. This is why it’s so important (especially for those struggling with their health) to use only the purest body care products and soaps. What’s Different about AzureWell's New Organic Castile Liquid Soaps? AzureWell Organic Castile Liquid Soaps  are made the old-fashioned way, using all organic plant oils and without synthetic additives. The traditional castile soap-making process transforms the organic plant oils into a gentle, glycerine-rich soap that naturally cleanses, nourishes, and hydrates the skin. Castile soap is renowned for its versatility -- gentle enough for your face and body, yet powerful enough to clean just about everything in your household. Our AzureWell* Organic Castile Liquid Soap formulations are made with all organic oils including organic olive oil (not cheaper sunflower seed oil) and organic essential oils (not unnatural fragrances). Choose from Unscented Aloe Mild, Peppermint, Citrus, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, and grease-cutting Limonene! Check out our Introduction to AzureWell Organic Liquid Castile Soaps article and our Uses & Dilutions post for more details on this pure, safe cleanser. *Also available in larger sizes from our brand, Azure Clean .
- Mental Health Deserves More Than A Sugar Pill Prescription
According to the National Institute of Mental Health , 1 in 5 Americans face mental health challenges. Over half are still being given antidepressants that science says are no better than a sugar pill - and may do more harm than good. Pause for just a moment, you are reading this for a reason. It's not just a coincidence, this is meant for you... or at the very least, someone you love or care about. One in five people are struggling with their mental health. The holistic world has come a long way in understanding mental and emotional wellness, but somehow the conventional path to mental health still leans to outdated solutions that land on a one-size-fits-all prescription pad. For decades, antidepressants like Zoloft, are too often being handed out as first-aid to bandaid the symptoms rather than exploring the deeper, more holistic healing of the whole person. You may remember from my previous blog, “Transform Your Mental Health” , true transformation of your mental and emotional wellbeing takes root at the intentional love and care we are required to give ourselves. It’s about positive intentional change in finding the harmony to restore peace with the mind, body and spirit. This only begins when we take the necessary steps forward to align our bodies with what it is asking for - faith, exercise, sleep, sunlight, real food and targeted nutrition for your most immediate needs. Does it all still sound just too overwhelming to begin?  You’re not alone, I’ve been there, and so have so many I love. The thought of overhauling your exhausted mind, tending to your delicate emotions and restoring your body all at once can feel paralyzing. The truth is, when your cells are supported with clinically targeted nutrients, your brain feels fueled, your mind becomes clearer and the habits that once felt impossible - like rest, exercise, and mindfulness - become the possible.* A Foundation of 90 Non-Negotiable Nutrients It’s tempting to think mental health lives only in the brain, but caring for our mental well-being means caring for the whole temple. The nutrients we feed our cells are part of the divine design that deeply affects our mood, peace and emotional resilience. Dr. Alfonzo Monzo, N.D.  often speaks of the 90 essential nutrients  ( AzureWell’s Whole Food Multi-Vitamin , Fulvic/Humic Blend , and Alaskan Cod Liver Oil provide the essential vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids) are the complete nourishment to every cell in our body, including our brain, promoting how we think, feel, and function: 60 minerals, 16 vitamins, 12 amino acids, and 2 essential fatty acids. This is not a bonus, but these are the non-negotiable building blocks for optimal mental and physical health. Target Your Mental Health with Science… not a sugar pill. Mental health challenges show up differently for everyone. For some, it's a racing mind that is sprinting on a track with no finish line. For others, it's the desperate hope that the mind will quiet itself enough to bring some much needed sleep to your night of peace. No matter what label your challenge bears, your mental health deserves more than a prescribed sugar pill. You deserve care that is honored by science to deliver real support that actually works, on your whole self. Achieve your mental mastery by targeting the root, then reclaim your power with science-based nourishment that fully honors the complexity of your whole being in mind, body, and spirit.*
- Golden Milk Nighttime Tea
A “Go-To” Tea for Me in Any Season This recipe for Golden Tea has become one of my favorite ones for wintertime. Winter, while a welcome break from the summer heat experienced here in Arizona, still makes me long for slightly warmer days. So, this nighttime golden milk is a typical “go-to” for me in that season. It’s maybe overused as a phrase, but overall, the drink for me feels like a “hug in a mug”. I also appreciate the potential anti-inflammatory benefits of the ginger, turmeric, and black pepper combination. Ingredients: 2 cups milk  (if non-dairy, cashew/ almond  recommended) 2 teaspoons Fermented Turmeric + Ginger Powder, Organic  (NS1830) Pinch ground black pepper  (HS604) 2 tablespoons maple syrup  (SW018) ½ teaspoon coconut oil  (OL377) ½ teaspoon ground cardamom  (HS1793) ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract  (BP046) ¼ teaspoon organic Ceylon cinnamon ( HS1418 ) Instructions: Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add all ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 7-10 minutes to let the flavors meld. Pour the golden milk into a cup. Enjoy! Our AzureWell Practitioner's Favorite Supplements This month’s Practitioner Pick comes from Christie Fleetwood, a former pharmacist turned Naturopathic Doctor whose personal health crisis became the catalyst for a radical life transformation. Discover more about her favorite ways to use AzureWell in practice, and at home. “ AzureWell's Botanical Body Clay Pack  smells good and feels  good! If it looks like I smeared puréed spinach on my face, you're not far off--this product is chock-full of SKIN FOOD: alfalfa, fennel, kelp, red algae, Irish moss. (NOTE: it also contains more clove than you'd want to eat, and the second ingredient listed is bentonite clay, so... EXTERNAL use only!) Use a little bit with a lot of water for a gentle scrub, or a lotta bit with a little water for a mask effect.” Find out more about  Christie  Fleetwood, ND, RPh  on our Find-a-Practitioner directory.
